Spring has arrived in Northeast Texas

We've had a slow drizzle for the past four days and you can really tell the difference in the surrounding areas. The dogwood trees are in full bloom now and the red bud's are fading in color and popping their green leaves along with the other trees. The birds are happy as you can hear them just a singing and see them hopping around on the ground hunting for worms. Our temperature this week is suppose to be in the lower 80's during the day and low 50's at night. The old timers hear say the weather will change again before Eastern weekend. I recall we always have a blast of cold about that time. My BIL said it snowed here last April.

Here are some more photos of our spring.

As we drive around in this area we have been stopping at the Historical Markers and are amazed of the history in this area. Here is one of the Markers near us off Hwy 259 South of Lone Star.

The price for the 8-horse team and loaded wagon was $1.00. If that toll road was still in operation today I'm sure for a motor home the toll would be quite high. This road from Jefferson to Pittsburg I believe is Hwy 729 today.

Well as you can tell I do not have a lot to report since we are here at base. Soooooooo heres to you . Until next time...............MtnAire Travlers
